Jim Carrey video ‘love note’ to Emma Stone: creepy or fun?

J im Carrey says his oddly creepy video “love note” to Emma Stone was a joke — a way of drawing attention to his TruLife website — but it showed that even in the hands of a comedic genius, some jokes just fall flat.

The star of “The Help” didn’t quite know how to react, posting a message on her YouTube page wondering if she should be “very flattered” or seriously worried by Carrey’s comments.

Friends of Stone say she is actually amused by all the hoopla and knows Carrey is well aware she is seriously dating her “Amazing Spider-Man” co-star Andrew Garfield.

In the video, the 49-year-old Carrey professes to be madly in love with Stone and wishes he was younger, so he could have “chubby, freckle-faced kids” with the flame-haired 23-year-old.

† “It’s another way Jim shows he can be very weird,” said someone who knows him well. “It’s that kind of wacky, strange behavior that eventually led Jenny McCarthy to call it quits with him. … Jim is terrific and a brilliant comic. But there are times when he can be really odd.”

NOT AGAIN! Just when the celebrity world has got over one Kardashian wedding, it looks like another one is looming!

There’s word that Kourtney Kardashian and her baby daddy Scott Disick are working with their reality show producers to coordinate the date, the time and the details for their nuptials — which reportedly will net that couple almost as much $$$ as Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries scooped up for their big day.

SPLITSVILLE: Actress and “The Talk” co-host Sara Gilbert and her girlfriend, TV writer and producer Allison Adler, have confirmed they amicably ended their relationship after 10 years. The couple have two children: a son, 6½, and a daughter, age 4.

NOT MY TYPE: While Jada Pinkett Smith gets angry about the rumors of troubles in her marriage to Will Smith, sources on the set of her “HawthorRNe” TV series tell me she is laughing off the tales linking her to co-star Marc Anthony.

While Smith genuinely likes Anthony as a friend and colleague, she never would have considered a fling. “Jada thinks he’s a troll,” said a show staffer, “and could never understand what Jennifer Lopez saw in him!”

THE RIGHT STUFF: Chicago is playing a key role in actor Troy Garity’s career. The actor, who happens to be the son of Jane Fonda, co-starred in the two “Barbershop” films here and is back this summer.

Just tapped for a role as a shady hood in NBC’s “The Playboy Club,” Garity also plays an investigative reporter in the recently wrapped “Boss” series for Starz, starring Kelsey Grammer as a fictional Chicago mayor.

Reportedly, to prep for that character, Garity was advised to read Sun-Timesmen Tim Novak, Chris Fusco and Steve Warmbir’s stories — a great way to get a feel for what those investigative gurus do for real on a daily basis.

THINKING BIG: Our Town’s Oscar-winning filmmaker Ed Zwick is starting work on what will be quite an epic: a movie about the creation of the Great Wall of China.

GOOD CAUSE: While “Good Day Chicago” co-anchor Corey McPherrin and “Windy City Live’s” Val Warner are morning TV competitors, the two will team up Friday night to co-host the Dwyane Wade charity dinner at the Trump Hotel, benefitting his Wade’s World Foundation.

SEEN ON THE SCENE: Among those spied at the Venue at Horseshoe Casino for the Hitz Boxing ESPN2 Friday Night Fights last week were Vince Vaughn, Bo Jackson, Peter Billingsley, Fabio, Shaun Gayle, Desmond Clark and Vinnie DiSalvo. … Jeremy Allen White and Laura Slade Wiggins of Showtime’s great Chicago-made “Shameless” series took a break at Timothy O’Toole’s Pub. … Lifehouse drummer Rick Woostenhulme Jr. and guitarist Ben Carey lunched at Harry Caray’s on Kinzie.
